| The Eyes Have It In Genuine People
Date: 21 December 1999, p. 5 Ulster News Letter PEOPLE judge the genuineness of others by looking for their laughter lines, psychologists said yesterday. Experiments showed that the eyes, not the mouth, were the main focus of attention in a smiling face. Tests focused on the "crow's feet" laughter lines that appear at the corner of the eyes when a person smiles. The researchers suggested this could be an instinctive way of assessing whether or not a smile-were genuine. The findings were presented at the British Psychological Society conference. |
