Research Assistants:
Brain Dynamics Centre, University of Sydney and Westmead Millennium Institute
Full time position
We have a research assistant positions available for a global trial in Child and adolescent attention deficit / hyperactivity disorder (ADHD)
The position will be based at the Brain Dynamics Centre, Westmead, and will involve working with human participants.
The positions will provide an opportunity to work hands-on in the cutting edge of technology in research. Our integrative facility includes computerized psychological, cognitive, EEG and MRI assessments. It supports programs in cognitive neuroscience and mental health research.
The Role
The Research assistants are required to assist in all aspects of running a research project, day-to-day testing and administration of the research.
You would be responsible for:
· Participant recruitment
· Participant assessments
· Phone assessments and follow-ups
· EEG and MRI data acquisitions
· Bookings and schedules
· Assist with day-to-day coordination of the project, data entry, and data management
This position requires flexibility in daily start and finish times. This position also requires flexibility to work on evenings and Saturdays. Training will be provided.
Organizational Context
The Brain Dynamics Centre is a centre of Westmead Millennium Institute and consists of both Research and Clinical Units. We are the hub for coordinating an international network of over 100 members. As part of this network, we are involved in international collaborations. The Centre conducts research programs in areas of mental health, and is very much a team environment.
Requirements
Criteria for the position are:
Essentials
Training/qualifications:
· At least an Honours degree in psychology, science or equivalent (incorporating research training)
Skills/techniques:
· Highly developed skills in prioritization, time management and ability to complete tasks within deadlines
· Demonstrated capacity to self-manage and perform within a multidisciplinary team
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Demonstrated ability to bring a creative approach to problem solving
· Attention to detail
Experience:
· Prior experience in human research involving data acquisition.
Desirable:
Skills/techniques:
· Demonstrated ability to liaise effectively with a range of people including senior management, research & clinical staff and general public
Experience:
· Prior experience with working in a mental health setting
